Expand Your Prolotherapy Goals by Treating Common Painful Joints
Intermediate Course
The intermediate workshop is for those who know some musculoskeletal medicine and prolotherapy but want to expand their injection skills to include the
- Hip
- Knee
- Pelvis
- Symphysis Pubis
- Elbow
- Wrist
- Thumb
These joints are common sites of musculoskeletal pain complaints but imaging studies are usually not very revealing or helpful and surgical solutions have proven to be unreliable.
Diagnosing and treating hip, knee, ankle and foot pain is all about taking a history, doing a physical examination and with palpation directed towards the painful site. Using case examples the evaluation and treatment of these joint, ligaments and tendons will be demonstrated. The attendees will examine each other to develop physical examination and landmark identification skills and then use those skills on an injection model. Once the landmarks are identified the student will try to place the needle on the target structure and check the placement under fluoroscopy.
Next Workshop: May 17, 18, and 19 2012
